Health, Nutrition, & Wellness at 55 Kip Center

Health and Wellness
Throughout the year, workshops, seminars and lectures are presented on a wide variety of health and wellness topics to encourage and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Discover new ideas and learn healthy habits and tips.
Blood pressure screening is offered on Wednesdays & Thursdays between 10:00am - 12:00pm.
Nutrition
55 Kip Center’s Congregate Nutrition Program is a vital component of the Center’s daily program. We are committed to providing our members with the availability of a hot, nutritious, and home-cooked noon-time meal.
Our healthy breakfast incorporates many fresh, nutritious options, including fruit, yogurt, cereal, and oatmeal, along with coffee and tea. An integral part of our vision is to educate and empower our members by partnering with a Registered Dietician (RD). Throughout the year we offer many Nutrition Workshops encouraging healthy eating, discussing the importance of three balanced meals and how to eat healthily on a small budget.
Eating together will bring healthy outcomes all around: socially, emotionally and nutritionally. Sharing a meal, great conversion can lead to lasting friendships.
A nutritious, hot meal is served daily at the center. Kip Café features a full course home cooked meal on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Light breakfast is available on weekdays. Reservations are required and should be made in advance. A $3.00 donation is suggested. Lunch is NOT served on Wednesdays.

Saturday Program
The Kip Center is open every Saturday, except when noted, from 8:30am-3:30pm. Programs, classes, events and activities are scheduled each week along with a delicious, healthy, hot meal served by dedicated volunteers. Enjoy a cup of coffee and relax with good friends – Kip is often called “our home away from home”.
